The number of Muslims killed every month has continued to drop by significant
margins. 1332 Muslims were killed in July, 1227 in August and now 485 in September. However, the number of injured in September has been the highest in
the last three months.
801 Muslims were injured in July, 1801 in August but unfortunately; 2137 in September. Of the 30 days in the month, no attacks were recorded on 5 days: 12th, 13th, 20th, 29th and 30th.
51.3% of Muslims killed were civilians with the remaining 48.7% being combatants.

Deadliest day
For the second month
running, Taliban activities have led to the bloodiest day in a month. The deadliest day for Muslims in the month of September 2018 was (10th September).
On this day, the Taliban launched attacks on several parts of Afghanistan
including Kunduz, Sar-e Pul City and Dara-e-Suf district of Samangan province
killing as many as 60 Afghan security personnel. At least 39 Taliban fighters
were also killed in gun fights with Afghan security forces, this no fewer than
99 Muslims were killed on 10th September 2018. On August 13th,
attacks carried out by the Taliban on Ghazni province in Afghanistan led to the
death of 439 Muslims (194 Taliban fighters, 150 Afghan soldiers and 95
civilians). For that month, 35.8% of all deaths occurred that day.
Civilian casualties
At least 249 Muslim
civilians were killed in the month of September; this represents 51.3% of the
total deaths recorded in this report, another 2137 civilians were injured. For
the second month running, Saudi Arabia has killed the highest number of
civilians; killing no fewer than 83 Muslim civilians (33.3% of the total
civilian deaths) and injuring 39 others in its ongoing war on the Yemenis. Of
the 2137 Muslims who were injured in September, 2071 (96.9%) were civilians. Israel
inflicted most of the injuries for the month, injuring at least 1716 (82.8% of
all civilian injuries) Palestinians and killed 22.
Combatant casualties
No fewer than 236
combatants were killed in September with another 66 sustaining injuries. This
means combatants made up 48.7% of those killed and just 3.1% of the injured.
Kills by countries
At least 264 Muslims
were killed by countries; this represents 54.4% of all kills. These countries
were: Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, Egypt, Syria, America,
Israel and India. Of all the countries, Saudi Arabia killed the highest number
of Muslims.
Kills by groups
Extremist groups killed
at least 112 Muslims i. e. 23.1% of all of kills. Taliban killed the highest
number of Muslims among groups; killing at least 69 (14.2% of all deaths) and
injuring 38 others. Other groups that killed Muslims are: Daesh, al Shabab and
Jabhat Fetah al Sham.
Unclaimed attacks
There were 8 unclaimed
attacks across the Muslim world in September. These attacks led to the death of
94 Muslims (19.4% of all deaths) while another 269 were injured. 84 of the
Muslims killed were civilians in other words, 89.4% of Muslims killed in
unclaimed attacks in September were civilians. The deadliest unclaimed attack
came on 11th September when a car bomb ripped through a group of
protesters protesting against a local police chief. 32 people were killed with
another 120 sustaining injuries. 34% of Muslims killed by unclaimed attacks in
September were killed on the 11th. In August, unclaimed attacks
claimed the lives of 129 Muslims (10.5% of all civilian deaths) and injured 157
others. This was up from 67 deaths and 125 injuries in July.
Most struck country
Palestine suffered the
most number of attacks in September. Israel attacked Palestinians 15 times
killing 22 Palestinians and injuring 1716 others.
